Five Simple and Effective Ways to Become a Better Football Player

These are tips that I developed from my playing days. These techniques worked well for me and I hope they can help others become the player they want to be.

1. Run every day

Running 3 miles every day is a great cardiovascular workout and will help keep you at your peak fitness. Run uphill as much as possible. At around 2 miles, find a steep hill and sprint up it for about 20-30 meters then turn round and walk back down. Repeat this 5 to ten times before finishing the run. If you do this every day you will find you can play at your best for longer because you'll be stronger and fitter.

2. Do exercises to increase your speed

Find a drop of around 150cm or stand on a barrel or safe object of a similar height. Jump off, landing on both feet in a squatting position and stand up straight as quickly as possible. Make sure you are well warmed up and stretched before doing this exercise to avoid injury. This exercise will strengthen quick reflex muscles in the legs, improving speed.

3. Learn to play with both feet

Most footballers play far better with one foot than the other, it's difficult to improve your touch with your stronger foot. Concentrating on your weaker foot is a quick win as bigger improvements can be made with less work. Kick a ball against a wall using only your weaker foot. Have a scratch game in training where everyone plays only with their weaker foot. It doesn't take much effort and you will notice results within a short space of time.

4. Learn a new trick

When you see a new trick by a professional, watch it closely, over and over again before attempting it. Online video is good for this purpose. Spend 10 minutes every day learning and perfecting the trick. Don't try it in a game until you can do it perfectly every time and don't overuse it or your opponents will figure you out.

5. Learn from the professionals

Watch professional footballers play and copy them. Sounds obvious but you'd be amazed how few players do this. Pick a player who plays in the same position as you and watch him closely, learn his tricks and pay attention to his positions when not on the ball. The player you choose should be someone you look up to and aspire to. The player I liked to learn from was Franck Sauzee, the ex-France, Marseilles and Hibernian midfield player. An excellent all round player who was always at the peak of his game.

Finally, don't be put off if you don't become Maradona over night. It takes time to become a great player and improving every part of your game gradually is the important thing. Sticking to a good routine and training properly are the key things to remember.

What Exactly Are Football Bets?

Betting on football is a hobby that a lot of people enjoy, it's a bit of fun, and you have the chance to win something which appeals to a lot of people. Obviously it's important not to risk more than you can afford to lose, but as long as you're sensible there is nothing wrong with it.

There are three main ways you can place a bet, win bets, lay bets and each way bets. There are other more complex methods, but these three are the main forms and it's best to stick to these for a while at least.

Win betting is where you bet on someone or something to win. So if you are betting on a football match between teams A and B, and you bet that team A will win, that would be a win bet.

Lay bets are where you bet on someone or something to lose. So using the same example, if you bet on team B losing the match then you would be placing a lay bet.

Each way bets work slightly differently and can't really be applied to a match between two teams, but can be placed in football betting by looking at league tables and betting on their outcome. When you bet on someone to win or place that means that you are betting on them either coming first and winning, or being one of the runners up - usually positions 2, 3 and sometimes 4. So if you bet on team A to win or place in the league table you would be placing an each way bet.

Accumulator bets are a form of betting popular in football betting. This is where you place a series of small bets of one of the above forms - usually win bets - but you link them together so that all of your predictions have to come true for you to win anything, but when you do win it's more than it would be if you bet on each separately. So you might bet on team A to win match 1, then team C to win match 2 and then team E to win match 3. To get it right you'd need for teams A, C and E to win. The way it works is that the winnings from each bet are carried forward and used as the stake for the next bet so that the pot of money you are betting each time grows as does the potential winnings, it is this accumulation of money that gives this sort of bet it's name.

When you first start betting it's worth remembering that the bookies who take bets all the time are pretty good at knowing the forms of the teams that you are betting on. They don't often get it wrong which is why you are more likely to win on something with short odds than you are to win on a long shot. Odds are the ratio of stake bet, to potential winnings. Odds of 2:1 are shorter odds than those of 14:1. Looking at the form of the various teams is the way that you can help yourself to have a better chance at winning when you place bets too. Though it's worth remembering that all betting is basically a game of chance.

Another form of sports betting is a betting pool. You can learn more about uk football betting at the New Football Pools website.

Powerful Tips and Secrets on How to Score Goals in Soccer (Football)

1) You have to want to Score Goals.

Every time you're on the ball you need to be looking to score goals. If you look at the best goal scorers in the world, the Lionel Messis' and Cristiano Ronaldo's, every time they are on the ball the first thing on their mind is to score. Their first touch is always towards the opposition's goal and their looking for open space to capitalize. Always look to Score! It's a mentality just as much as it is a skill set.

2) Don't Hesitate when it comes to shooting.

Too many players beat one player and get an opening, then simply pass the ball off to another player or wait for the defender to get back in position and attempt to beat him/her again. Shoot the ball! Don't hesitate when it comes to shooting. You're never going to Score if you don't shoot. If you find yourself hesitating when you have an open shot, notice this habit, and attempt to correct it over time.

3) Get into Goal scoring areas.

You're not going to score many goals if you're hanging out at the half way line. If you want to score goals you have to get into the heat of the action. If you're a striker get on the end of through balls and crosses. Midfielders need to complete their runs and get into the box. Defenders can even get forward to help out if the situation allows. You will score many goals in your career simply by being in the right place at the right time. Always complete your run. Get into goal scoring areas!

4) Demand the ball when your open.

Let teammates know that you're open. Let them know that you want the ball. Many players don't want the ball when they are open, they are scared to get the ball and have the pressure on them to finish the goal. You need to remove this habit from your game if this is currently your situation. Be confident, demand the ball, and take your chances. You'll never score if you don't try.

5) Always, Technique and Accuracy over power.

You are not going to score nearly as many goals as you could, if all you try to do every time you get a shot, is smash the ball as hard as you can. I realize we all want to rip a blistering shot in to the top corner and put a whole in the back of the net - but do yourself a favour. Focus on accuracy and technique before power; simply place the ball into an open area of the goal instead of trying to blast the ball as hard as you can. Trust me; this will result in many more goals throughout your Soccer career.

Implement these helpful tips into your game and you will be on your way to improving your goal scoring tally.

Football coaching- tips and advice

? A successful coach should always be open to new ideas and want to continually improve their individual skills and knowledge of the game. FA courses offer the perfect solution to all coaches who aim to improve their skills, knowledge, experience and enjoyment of the game

? Cultivate an image of success. In order to get noticed at the lowest levels, it is important to become known for achieving success. This is not always measured in wins, but also in how a coach develops players, the style of football his team plays, and his ability to get the best out of their players.

? Apply for every position that might suit your talents. Even if it means dropping a level in professional terms, the ability to gain more exposure can often be more important than coaching at a higher level. As a lot of luck is involved in gaining professional coaching vacancies, for any ambitious coach, the more exposure the better opportunities for vacancies in the future.

? It's difficult to become a coach when you are not actively coaching, so accepting any position with a view to move up the ladder is important, even if that first position is coaching an Under 8's team for free. The more a coach's reputation grows the more chance he has when applying for coaching vacancies.

? It is not necessary to have played as a professional to become a professional coach, but some playing experience is crucial.

? Be prepared for setbacks - sometimes positions don't work out, or you don't get the vacancy you really wanted.

? Always continue your coach education - there are always new developments in coaching methods.

? Remember that coaching is about the players, not the coach.

? Don't be tempted to cheat in order to gain a football vacancy.

? Take care of your health - sports coaching can be incredibly stressful.

Liverpool Football Club - It's Time to Relive the 80s!

The English Premier League has become somewhat of a spectacle in recent times. Thanks to intense media coverage and vast quantities of money paid to the league for broadcasting rights it has surpassed every other league in Europe. The biggest names in the world are lured over to the Premiership with the promise of money, glory and success. If you look at the Champions League competition over the last couple of seasons it has been dominated by the English teams. This shows the strength of the English sides and the power of the Premier League. As with all leagues the Premiership has a select group of teams that are a cut above the rest and one of the sides representing the cream of the Premier League is Liverpool FC.

Liverpool are one of the most decorated teams in England posing 18 league titles, 6 European titles and have many other trophies to their name. The 1980's were dominated by Liverpool. But unfortunately they have not won their domestic league title since. In 2005 Liverpool won the UEFA Champions League title coming back from a 3-0 deficit to win on penalties against AC Milan and since then have really made this competition their own. The likes of Manchester United and Chelsea have outgrown Liverpool and it has been a while since they have gone anywhere near the Premier League trophy. In 2006 the current owner of Liverpool football club David Moores decided it was time to move on. He wanted to sell the club to someone that had capital to invest in the club on both players and a new stadium. After much thought and negotiation he agreed to sell to two American businessmen, Tom Hicks and George Gillette.

Hicks and Gillette promised to make the purchase of Liverpool FC with their own money and no debt would be involved. They were all for current manager Rafa Benitez and said that they would allow him to look after the team decisions. A new stadium was to be built directly after the takeover but this has been put on hold due to the current economic situation. Since the takeover the club has plundered further into debt and the relationship between Hicks and Gillette and manager Rafa Benitez has become somewhat strained. This became most apparent during the Gareth Barry saga that went on over the summer of 2008 where Benitez implied that he was allowed no control over his team. The fans as you would expect have taken sides with their manager. Hicks and Gillette have been falling out with each other of late which can only hinder the team's performance. The two have extra police protection on rare visits to the ground due to the fans discontent.

But things are looking up for Liverpool. Over the last few seasons they have brought in some top signings during the transfer windows. After a successful start could this be the season where Liverpool football club relive their glory years? Only time will tell.

Who Wants to Buy Liverpool Football Club

George Gillett and Tom Hicks are the current owners of the reputable Liverpool Football club, which of course I home to our very own, Steven Gerrard. The two owners could possibly see the once in a lifetime opportunity of a Football Club investment, clearly go down the pan.

The current financial meltdown on a worldwide scale has pushed the Royal Bank of Scotland to start pressuring the two owners, George Gillett and Tom Hicks, to repay their initial loan of £350m, which was used to purchase the club a while back.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum the rulers in Dubai have had a keen interest in Liverpool Football Club for the past couple of years, which eventually led to them placing an offer of £500m not so long ago, which was of course, denied. Maybe the two owners are wishing they had accepted the offer!

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum have now expressed that they are not in a position or interested in buying the club anymore, although the offer of £350m may tempt them back into the bidding race, a full £150m below what they previously offered.

The uncertainty behind the Liverpool team could have devastating effects and could see them in financial ruin in the long term.

The current owners have decided not to release details on their current financial situation or future plans of the Club. This being said, investment analysts are in a strong position to suggest that the club will be sold off, and they'll be no problem finding a buyer, its just a case of at what price!

Knee Pain Relief - Football Knee Braces to Help Your Knees Survive in This Contact Sport

Do you enjoy playing football but are worried about your knees?

What you probably do not enjoy is the pain you feel in your knee after a game, or after practice. Of course, not everyone suffers from knee injuries after a game of football, but more often than you think these kinds knee problems do arise.

Because football is a contact sport, there can be many ways for knee injuries to occur while playing the game. You already know this to be true.

Each position played in football presents a unique set of circumstances were knee injuries can occur. For instance, if you play a running back you are more likely to suffer injuries due to repetitive movements like running, twisting and turning or a side on tackle. Or, if you play an offensive or defensive lineman position, you have different challenges. If you are a lineman you are more likely to suffer from a knee injury because of direct contact with another player, down after down, fighting tooth and nail to gain an advantage for your team.

Because of these different challenges there are different types of football knee braces that are available to you. This way you can help protect your knees no matter what kind of position you play or how hard you want to play.

What do you look for in a good football knee brace?

For starters, you need to determine why you are going to wear a knee brace. Is it to simply offer extra protection for your knee or do you already have pain? Or, do you have discomfort in your knee that you want to keep from getting worse?

Depending on your answer to that question, you can start to look for the proper football knee brace to suit your needs. There are different types of football knee braces that offer different levels of support to the knee. Unhinged knee braces (knee sleeves) are lightweight and allow for a lot of movement to occur, while still offering some support to the knee. There are different kinds of hinged knee braces that are designed to offer deeper levels of support to the knee and reduced movement in order to bring stability to the knee area.

Purchasing a football knee brace is not going to cost you a lot of money and it will save you a lot down the road by wearing one now. Some people who ignore their knee problems now may end up having to have knee surgery. Some are not able to play the game at all after an incident. The bottom line while playing this intense sport is: "Do what you can now to support your knees now, before the season ends too quickly!"

Top Three Football Stadiums in the UK

If you are a fan of football, then chances are you know of the top three football stadiums in all of the United Kingdom: Wembley Stadium, nestled in the borough of Brent in London; Old Trafford Manchester United located in the Old Trafford section of Greater Manchester; and Liverpool's Anfield Stadium. These three stadiums have seen hundreds of riveting games, with each changing the history of United Kingdom football, and creating memories for all of the fans who have sat in the seats and witnessed the events.

Wembley Stadium has a long history, dating back to 1922, when ground was broken for the large arena that would open in 1923. The original building was demolished in 2003, and the new Wembley Stadium, larger than the first, with a seating capacity of almost 100,000, opened its doors in March of 2007, a year after the original estimated opening date. It is at the Wembley Stadium that the home games of the England national football team are played. Its predecessor, the original Wembley Stadium, was one of the most famous stadiums known in the world, and both are known as "The Home of Football". Wembley Stadium is probably most well known for being one of the seventeen stadiums to have held a FIFA World Cup Final.

Old Trafford, referred to as the "theatre of dreams", started out in the 1870's as a small field along North Road in Newton Heath, and was played upon by the Manchester United F.C. But visiting teams voiced many complaints about the field, referring to it as a mucky, rutted bog and a rocky, jutting quarry. It wasn't until 1902 that the stadium's future was certain. The team captain at the time, Harry Stafford, saved the land from certain bankruptcy, and six weeks before the FA Cup title in April of 1909, the land was officially named as the home of Manchester United. The purchase of the land happened then as well. In 1949 a good portion of the stadium was destroyed during a bombing in the Second World war, and over the course of the next fifty years the stadium was built upon and improved upon, and today it is at its best.

Liverpool is home to the well known Anfield Stadium, which has been around since 1884. Anfield is an association football stadium, and was originally the home of Everton F.C. In 1892 they vacated due to renting problems, and Liverpool F.C. took over and has remained ever since. In addition to hosting soccer events, Anfield has also been used for tennis and boxing matches. The stadium can seat around 41,000 people, but set a record with an impressive seating of 61,905 in 1952. Currently, there are plans being made to replace Anfield with a larger stadium, which would be located in Stanley Park. The new stadium would be able to hold 25,000 additional fans. At the moment, the plans are on hold, due to the unstable financial market and conflict between the club owners in the UK and those in the United States.

Umrbo Sign Football Kit Deal With Reborn New York Cosmos

25 years after their last appearance, the New York Cosmos Football (or 'soccer') team have been reformed. Known for their wild personality as a club they attracted big names on and off the pitch, one such name is Pele, who has become the club's honorary president.

In a recent interview with FourFourTwo magazine, Pele recalls the hype surrounding the club, "When we started to win, we had a really big bunch of names in the crowd: movie stars, sports stars, pop stars, politicians, artists... Robert Redford, Muhammad Ali and Mick Jagger all came. Andy Warhol, Elton John, Henry Kissinger too-every game, there was someone there. It was fantastic."

To celebrate their return, the original club's kit supplier Umbro has singed a deal to provide something special. The new kit is a clear inspiration of the originals with a distinct retro style but the manufacturing quality of a modern kit.

Umbro's chief marketing officer Trevor Cairns explains his excitement, "Umrbo was a partner of the New York Cosmos during the 1970s when they were unquestionably the world's coolest football club".

The revival of the club was announced in August 2010, 33 years to the day of Pele's last match with the club and of his career. The club is not only committed to bringing back a once great football team but also helping to improve the future of football. The focus will be on significant investment in grassroots and youth football, with the provision of an elite training program and opportunities for talented youngsters.

The Club's new kit is a clear retro design, with original colouring and styling of the old version, but with a modern cut. The kit is manufactured out of a high tech polyester mix which reduces overheating and wicks away perspiration. It is on sale this season.

The new kit is of similar retro design to the highly anticipated umbro speciali boots. Umbro have also sought after the contract for the Liverpool football shirt despite the current condition of the club.

The Football Fan - Passion For the Game and For Their Colours

There is no more passionate a supporter about their own sport than the football fan. Their interest stems from their club's great past history, including the ground, the players, managers right through to the trophies that the club has won.

One main collectors item for any self respecting supporter is the team football jersey. As soon as a new shirt design is made available we are all keen to get our hands on it, we impatiently wait for the unveiling of the new club kit each new season.

There are many supporters who collect all types of football shirts and not just from their favourite club. Some look to wear or collect retro shirts that were worn by their club in past seasons. Most English football clubs have a certain style of shirt maybe from the 60's or 70's take the Crystal Palace shirt of the 70's that is recognised worldwide.

Fanatical supporters go into even greater detail recalling the type of shirt that was worn by the winners of the last tournament be it the World Cup, European Cup Champions League Finals or the League Championship. These jerseys can even become a valuable collectors item.

Past historic shirts come to mind like the England strip from Admiral that was worn by the likes of Kevin Keegan and Glen Hoodle with it's horizontal red, white and blue colours at the top of the shirt. And who can forget THE famous red World Cup winning shirt from 1966 Final.

Club shirts that I remember well are the Birmingham City shirt, blue with the white stripe vertically through the middle. The famous Arsenal shirts red with white sleeves. (my subbuteo team shirts). Even the yellow arsenal shirts famously worn in the FA Cup finals of 1970-71 and 1978-79 seasons.

New modern shirts have little to compare with the early days of football. Today's latest technology enable manufacturers to produce fantastic creations from different type fabrics to the type of colours used stripes fading from on side to the other, completely different to the old traditional rugged football jerseys.

The enthusiasm spreads all around the world for football shirts. You can find all types of websites on-line discussing a wide variety of topics to do with their favourite club or countries colours, whether it be today's club sponsors or about collectible shirts of the past, there are many on-line forums that could keep you busy for hours at a time.

Boots, socks and the shorts are all an integral parts of the football kit itself but the item that gets the most attention is the Football Shirt - The main symbol of the club.

Team kits are forever changing if you would like to keep an eye on the newest styles of England football shirts, and get the latest news and developments in the world of football (soccer).

Express Printed Promotional Football (Soccer Ball) Shaped Stress Balls

The good thing about football matches is that they keep coming. As soon as one finishes, football fans will already be planning what they will be doing and where they will be for the next. Football is one of the most popular sports in the world and many businesses have used this fact in their own company promotions. Why not? With so many football mad fans out there, you are sure to make a hit when using football related promotional merchandise to promote your company, organisation or club. Promotional football shaped stress balls are one of the most popular promotional tools for doing just that.

The problem is, however, that with such a popular sport, football squeeze balls are often running low in stock! A big event such as the World Cup is bound to bring many marketing professionals to turn on their browsers and try to source these fun, eye-catching products. Often they are disappointed as others have beaten them to the available stock.

Most promotional gift suppliers purchase their stress products from big wholesalers. These wholesalers may purchase foot ball stress relievers in the thousands but when there stock goes it is gone until the next shipment arrives and this could be too late for your event. If your current supplier only uses wholesalers, they may not be able to assist you with express lead times and your promotion could be in jeopardy.

So what do you do if this happens to you? First you need to find a supplier that specialises in promotional stress toys. There are a few of them out there and a good search online should bring you to some of their sites. You are looking for suppliers that have built websites around stress products, actively promoting them. Many will keep their own stocks and/or can import them for you quickly directly from the factory.

The next bit of advice I give you will apply to pretty much any Chinese manufactured promotional product. If you want to get an excellent deal on top quality promotional stress balls and get the stock fast, you need to order from a supplier that works closely with the manufacture. Where most suppliers will not be able to supply you when stocks have run dry, a specialist in squeeze ball products will be able to get them for you, custom made in your colours and even printed in full colour and deliver them to you in approximately 12 days.

Do you want to hear another bonus? It will cost you 30% to 50% less than purchasing through a gift supplier that does not import the products themselves.

You will find a massive selection of promotional stress balls including sports shapes at stressballs.co.uk

Dan Toombs is Managing Director of CompuGift Limited, the UK's leading online supplier of promotional stressballs. We ship worldwide.

The International Federation of American Football (IFAF) is the largest governing body of sport American football. It has its membership established in 1976, and started its World Cup since then. It is managing some of the biggest sport organizations. For instance, the organization has regional members like European Federation of American Football, Pan American Federation of American Football, and Asian Federation of American Football. There are now 45 associations representing countries and regions, and altogether they represent more than 20 million athletes. The organization is looking broadcasting rights of the World Cup, which produce live football games and matches to hundreds of millions of audience from all over the world.

These numbers are mind-boggling. They do not represent football fans, but athletes alone. This is the reason why that 3 Web Total TV Radio Tuner is good Internet TV software. With over 4,000 radio stations and 900 TV channels, it dishes out anything related to football. The IFAF, responsible in looking at licensing and rights of broadcast, makes sure that Internet TV is given enough permission to air the World Cup, and other smaller tournaments in individual countries and regions.

3 Web Total TV Radio Tuner works like any other Internet TV platform. Except for two things: a large cache of radio broadcast, choicest TV channels, and compatibility with other popular media players. It might be quite surprising that this Internet TV platform give more radio stations than other media sources. The main intention of putting more radio channels is to keep up with the development of radio broadcast. As compared to other platforms, radio stations are not given enough space to be shared and broadcasted. This is a great disadvantage. Radio is also a source of information, and a reliable reporter of actual events.

Secondly, 3 Web Total TV Radio Tuner can give better space for quality video contents. Other software gives out a lot of channels that are deficient in relevance and quality. This means that this platform gives more emphasis on creating a viewership that is more informed, educated, and well-balanced. For sports fans, they can be assured of channels that broadcast live football games. Moreover, people can get their daily dose of drama, British news channels, Spanish bullfighting, and South American samba dance. These channels are filtered out so that only those that contain good contents are allowed to be shared.

Thirdly, 3 Web Total TV and Radio Tuner do not have compatibility issues with existing media players. Unlike other platforms where additional software has to be installed, it does not ask anything from the users except minimal system requirements. On top of it, it has all the functionality of home theater. Users can watch the videos according to how they can take in. For those sports fans who want to have more of the live football broadcast, you can pause the video and rewind. They can relive the historic feats of their favorite stars. In this way, they can better appreciate and enjoy the show.

How Money is Killing Football

Not long ago clubs were used to be in neighborhoods, players used to be paid reasonable salaries and revenue used to be generated from ticket sales. Today the whole spectrum has changed Clubs are moving out from neighborhoods and building stadiums in tax lucrative areas, players are paid astronomical salaries and clubs are generating revenues from T.V. rights, sponsorship and sale of merchandise.

The Galacticos culture has spawned an era where clubs value players more for their commercial utility than their presence on field. Tickets are priced so high that it is almost out of reach of middle class and working class football fans. Worst of all it has made the game more predictable than ever before as the rich are getting richer by taking away from the poor clubs.

Influence of money in football in Asia

With the growing economies and increasing prosperity East and South East Asia has become one of the most lucrative market for football merchandise. Today bigger clubs in Europe are having players from these countries to have a strong base in their respective countries.

The off season friendly matches list has been growing rapidly and players are getting lesser rest comparatively.

South America

The South American countries are traditional suppliers of quality players to higher European clubs. Today it has taken new dimension great clubs in the region it seems has only one aim - how to make technically efficient players and earn fat money in transfers.

The scouts of the big clubs are now having a permanent base in the continent and clubs like Chelsea has made a different department to handle such situation.

North America

Soccer is not the main game in US and it faces a stiffer competition from already established sports like Baseball, Basketball and American Football there. For last several years major clubs are trying to break the states market as it is the most lucrative market in the world.

Africa

In the last decade African football has come a long way. After the glittering performance of Cameroon in Italia 90 the focus has shifted to African countries. Clubs like Ajax has opened their own academies to nurture talent in Africa. It seemed like a South American business model just that the grooming also is done by the European team.

Europe

Most money of the game comes from the continent as it is here the game is followed like religion. It is here people are identified with which club they root for. On a football stadium we have Tony Blair who is a Newcastle fan and Alistair Campbell who is a Blackburn fan.

The growing money in the game has most affected the European game. Today the top clubs are getting richer, paying more salaries and buy players at will. The surprises has become thing of past, no more we are having upsets like Wimbeldon winning 87 FA Cup, Ajax home grown players winning championship at the strength of their youth system.

Now we had only four teams winning the premier league since its inception in 1991, Clubs like Chelsea backed by oil money of Abrahamovic go and buy any player at any price. This disparity has resulted in increasing gulf between the rich and the poor of football world and leading to more predictable results and lesser excitement.

The dream of 11 players synchronized in thought and action by a creative manager to win major championships has been blurring faster than ever before.

Buy Yourself Some Football

Portion of adrenalin quickened our imagination many a time. We strained our voices on stands, rooted for our favorite teams in front of TV impetuously, and were so surprised, why our palms ached so much after a football match. It's because we just love football. And cannot imagine our life without our favorite team. We're fans and there're more than 3 billions of us all over the world, and it's the biggest association of people in the world. Fans all over the world understand each other greatly, regardless of language diffirence. As all of us are united by one strong feeling, one passion - His Majesty FOOTBALL.

Undoubtedly, all modern fans are dreaming of touching their idols' life although slightly. We wear favorite colors of our teams, T-shirts with names of players, even change our appearance to look like football stars.

On August 23, 2002 clipping service of Yokohama stadium, Japan, informed that pieces of football field, where World Cup final between Brazil and Germany took place, would be displayed for sale. This idea was born due to tourists, who had a great wish to take a piece of football history with themselves in the form of souvenir, while leaving the stadium. The whole of grass-plot was divided into 30 thousands of fragments and sold in a stadium's gift shop. One piece of football history, packed in acrylic container, costed $20. Flow of fans, wishing to buy some "football" for themselves, was so big, that organizers decided to sell no more than three original football souvenirs to one person.

Sale of Olympic stadium lawn - is not the first case, when place of football battles is sold in retail. In 2005 a Brazilian company "ArteRio" also sold pieces of legendary Brazilian stadium "Marakana", where legends of world football - Pele, Garrincha, Ziko and Romario - played in different years.

World Cup 2006 in Germany is no exception from this tradition. It was finished just recently, but very soon already fans will have an opportunity to buy grass from a football field, where World Cup took place. It is planned to sell out the whole of stadium's surface in 30 x 20 cm pieces in a special packing, which allows keeping this World Cup 2006 souvenirfor a long time. Each piece will have a "quality certificate", confirming its originality. It is also supposed, that later a happy holder of grass with traces of famous footballers will put this relic, say, in his garden, and then a gardener-fan will have his own "World Cup 2006 corner".

However, besides real football fields, there're are also virtual football fields in the world. Many football fans play on-line football simulators, buy and organize their own football teams and leagues, compete with each other, revealing winners and triumphers. Well, we are living in the world of modern technologies, and, of course, progress couldn't pass football by.

Internet, being the most advanced technology, didn't keep its distance, and today you can buy virtual pieces of field for your favorite teams. On the threshold of World Cup 2006, a unique project http://www.my-football-team.com was launched in Internet. This project makes it its aim to determine the most popular football club in the world. A team, which loves us, fans, most of all. You know, we inspire football players trying to gain a decisive victory in a match, improving their skills, overcoming tiredness and pain from traumas, winning championships and world cups. If there were no fans, there wouldn't be the most wonderful game in the world. Whom our favorite ikons would play for?

Now you can receive a small piece of football field for free, and if you have a wish to deposit additional money, you'll have to pay a small amount. A token contribution of $0,25 will be required in this case. Well, you also receive an opportunity to make some money - prices for plots will be growing closer to ending of voting.

A time has come to vote. Most probable that you have your own favorite football team. You can cast your voice and even many voices for your team! In the virtual time regime you will be able to see a higher rating of your team during the general polling. We wish all the success to your team! http://www.my-football-team.com

Celtic Football Club - The Best of the Old Firm?

In the Scottish Premier League there is a larger gap between the top sides and the rest than in any other division across Europe. No other league has had the dominance that the Scottish Premier league has had. The two sides in question are Celtic and Rangers. Both teams are based in Glasgow and are collectively known as 'The Old Firm'. Celtic play in green and reside at the Celtic Park stadium which holds around 60,000 supporters. The majority of Rangers fans despise Celtic and this is one of football's greatest rivalries. Managed by Gordon Strachan in recent times Celtic have clearly had the edge over Rangers and enjoyed more of the success.

Celtic was founded in 1987 by Marist Brother Walfrid. The club was given the name Celtic to reflect both it's Irish and Scottish roots. Traditionally the fans of Celtic football club were Catholic people which today is something that is dying out. Celtic played their first official match against Rangers on the 28th May 1988 which they convincingly won by 5-2 and they have had numerous encounters since. A lot of the work done by Walfrid to create Celtic football club was inspired by fellow SPL team Hibernian and on the day of the first official match with Rangers 8 guest Hibernian players played for the Celtic team. Celtic have so far won 42 league titles with numerous other trophies to their name.

Celtic have not been such a force in Europe in recent times. In the 2006/2007 season they finished 2nd in the group stage to Manchester United playing some rather convincing football. In the first knockout stage they face AC Milan. Both the home and the away ties finished 0-0 and it was just a single goal in extra time scored by Kaka that was to seal Celtic's fate. In recent times no other Scottish side has been able to crack the UEFA Champions League. The problem for the club is attracting the bigger stars to Glasgow. The SPL is considered to be one of the smaller leagues in football. Other than the Old Firm teams there are no other sides that offer stadium facilities on that level and average gates of around 15,000 people. The size of the SPL and it's status in the game is on the rise and this could change in the future.

As a super power in the Scottish Premier League will Celtic establish themselves in Europe? Only time will tell.

Football Freestyle Company

Football Freestyle is today a pretty unknown sport, even though it deserves a lot more recognition! The sport is still young and the term "football freestyle" have only been official for a couple of years. But that does not stop the freestylers to develop new tricks all the time and brake all limits there is in the sport. Freestylers have made things that seemed impossible 3 years ago, possible!

There is not many freestyle organizations and freestyle companies out there, but there are some. I really want to give props to all of them. Most freestyle companies has invested a lot of money into the freestyle scene and they're always trying to involve other freestylers in different projects and performances. Many of the companies are arranging performances all over the world, starring in TV ads and so on. They are trying to make the sport well known. They all make a big effort since freestyle is not a big industry, like soccer for example. They invest with the purpose to inspire kids, to get kids to love the ball even more.

There are not many companies and organizations out there, but to all of them I want to give big props, they are really making a difference for a lot of kids. The freestylers receive fan letters and emails on a daily basis from kids who love what they're doing. In many countries there is not much to do, and then football freestyle is great, they take a ball or something round and do some tricks.

If you want to know more about the sport itself I would recommend you to read this article: http://ezinearticles.com/?The-Wonderful-Art-of-Football-Freestyle!&id=705885

Big props to all you football freestylers out there!

Effective Betfair Football Trading - Get on the Attack

Football is a vastly distinctive sport to bet in concern with betting exchanges than other sports. The reason is in several other sports such as Tennis, Golf, and Cricket, hundreds or maybe thousands of individual events decide the result.

For example, if Michael Vaughan slashes a boundary on the very first ball, it is hardly a clue that England will win the match. Similarly, if Roger Federer fails in his opening service in the initial set of a grand slam event, then it is not a hint of a defeat. These are some examples of sports, which have a huge number of smaller events that lead to make the result.

However, football is very distinctive from these sports, as a small number of major events contribute to the result of a football game. An example for a major event in a football match may be obviously a goal.

Other Factors Effecting Betting Exchanges:

Other key events in a football match, which punters in football betting exchanges classify as key events are:

Red cards and penalties perhaps, a large number of penalties scored and a player being given red card will certainly affect the match in many instances or may affect the flow of the game too. Next, instances such as yellow cards or injuries do not influence much on the outcome of a football game, unless the injury occurs to a key player such as the goalkeeper or the captain.

Next, free kicks in inessential areas and modification in team strategies affect the game, but not considerably in terms of instant price shifts in betting exchanges. Hence, look for an event in a football match that might have a spectacular effect on the result and price.

If such an event has already taken place, then the knowledge is ineffectual to place bets in football betting exchanges. First, the Betfair delay system will forbid you from having a bet and second the whole world will have an idea of the game.

There are several expert traders, who work on the betting exchanges on football and earn huge money by guessing dramatic events in a match. The main theme to predict here is, when a team is attacking.

It might seem clear, but a team needs to attack and dominate over opponents. On the betting exchanges for football, you certainly cannot sit back and anticipate before the vital event that may have a striking effect on the price.

Overview:

For example, imagine that Chelsea might move out with ten minutes of the game remaining and the score is yet goalless. But the price for, can they score with so little time left may fall possibly, in the region for about 1.2 or even shorter. This may lead to a tremendously lucrative situation for you.

This strategy is best for betting exchanges on football and the best thing is that it does not rely on viewing pictures. The strategy works more effectively in betting exchanges, if you stick with better teams, because good teams have more control, more attacks, good players, and more corners, and tend to practice one of these vital major events that you are hunting for.

The Differing Fortunes of English Football Clubs

The contrast in fortunes between the top English football clubs and those in the lower leagues seems to be getting bigger. And by the top football teams I'm not necessarily referring to all those in the Premiership as being financially healthy in the wealthiest of all the English soccer leagues.

Take the situation with Portsmouth F.C for example. The players received their December wages eight days late. And that was only after the club`s owners managed to get hold of a short-term loan so they could pay the money. This is the third time the club has been late with players` and other staff`s wages. Added to their problems the HM Revenue & Customs is threatening the club with a winding up petition. Their on pitch problems are just as serious as their off pitch ones as they languish in the bottom part of the Premiership.

Taking a look at a team which is probably quite typical of a side in the lower leagues, Rochdale, we see a side that is doing well on the pitch, where they are currently in top position in League 2.

Rochdale`s average attendance is around 3,500. No doubt success on the field is helping them to keep their supporters travelling to the games to watch them. But, getting in to the match is certainly not cheap, especially is it difficult during this time of recession.

The cheapest match day ticket will cost £14 for an adult, with concessionary tickets for children or pensioners around £9. Family tickets can help ease the burden a little. Then there`s the cost of food and drink inside the ground, and that is never cheap at any football ground. A programme is £3. Added to that is the cost of travel, which for fans travelling to other grounds can be horrendous. And for the die hard supporters who buy the kits, Replica shirts for adults are £37.99, Junior shirts £27.99, Shorts £14.99 and Socks £7.99. That`s about £100 per full kit.

And, if Rochdale are promoted at the end of the season they`ll have to come up with 20% higher wages for their players. Can they afford it? Will the supporters keep on coming through the gates, faced with possibly higher ticket prices to help cover greater costs?

At the other end of the spectrum Manchester City, one of the richest of all clubs, has reported a loss of £92 million for the year up to May 31st 2009. That`s a huge jump in losses from the previous year, when it was £32 million. Of course most of the increased expenditure was down to huge transfer fees being paid out for new players, and the higher costs of wages for some of the world`s top players.

But, where such high amounts of money are involved football club`s owners demand success, which is why Mark Hughes is now the ex-Manchester City manager, being fired after not winning enough matches.

The fact is that despite the economic crisis in England football is still in a reasonably healthy condition.

Manchester United is one of the most successful football clubs in the world. Their success on the pitch is mirrored by their success off it. They have the largest club stadium capacity in England, seating over 75,000 supporters. And, unlike the majority of clubs, they have no trouble filling it at their home games, as well as swelling numbers at their away matches too.

The price of tickets don`t seem to put fans off either, costing twice as much as they do for that of Rochdale. Hospitality boxes can cost from a little over £100 plus VAT for a low-profile match. A Carling Cup semi-final for example is £119 + VAT for the package, right on up to over £550 when the visiting team is one like Chelsea or Liverpool. Prices do include meal, free drinks, car parking, and programme however. Go for a top private executive box and the price for a season rockets to a starting price of £18,600. Usually it`s businesses who buy the executive boxes.

Social Networking, Football Style

All football fans want their opinion heard, whether its serious blogging or just telling your workmate that a goal should have been given offside. Its everyday chat and the lifeblood of millions of people in hundreds of countries.

Social Media is growing apace and with it websites and forums on all subjects where you can converse with people of similar interest. Football has such a huge appeal that there are thousands of sites already up which allow discussion of your favourite teams and the latest action. Many of these sites focus on particular clubs so that the focus is directed at the latest goings on at the club, who is playing that is not good enough, who they should buy next, how terrible the referee was in the last match etc. Unfortunately some of these sites often attract people that think it is clever to swear and name call within their posts so look for a site that is well moderated if you decide to join the fray.

As a fan of a particular club I do tend to visit a few of the sites for my team and read the latest opinions but in general I like to participate in more open discussion so I go to a site that is less focused mostly. If you can find a site with blogs , videos, opinions polls, forums etc it becomes fun and you can become part of the community very easily or even import your own community. Its possible now to bring in your own set of fans for a particular club and set up your own group within a bigger site. If you are a local club without a website you can form your own community within these sites now with your own unique forum and club page set up in minutes. Your club members can build personal pages and even load videos or pictures of the latest match. If your club has communication problems like posting the team for the match at the weekend its absolutely ideal.

I use http://www.thebackofthenet.com but as it has all these facilities and more but there are choices out there that could benefit your club without spending any money. These sites are fun and free to everybody that is interested in football. The content is all contributed by members who are football lovers from around the world and it changes everyday so its a great place to visit. I hope you will go and get involved if you love football.

Chris Archer has been a follower and participant in football for many years. He has forthright views on football and loves to share them. He likes to discuss professional and local football on the social media site http://www.thebackofthenet.com
